Oz X-Files : “authenticated sighting”, “appear to be inexplicable”, USA “very interested”, page 1

Posted by dandare on April 28, 2013

With the permission of the National Archives of Australia (on behalf of the Commonwealth Government of Australia), I’ve uploaded searchable PDF files containing over 10,000 pages of Australian UFO documents to a directory at the link below. Some highlights from that collection are given in the post below (article from IscaacKoi).

via Oz X-Files : “authenticated sighting”, “appear to be inexplicable”, USA “very interested”, page 1.

I have posted this link from Above Top Secret, just in case anyone has missed out on the ufo documents from Australia.

Also of interest is Fast searching of major free online collections of UFO journals .It mentions that

It is now possible to download the journals published over the last few decades by several significant UFO groups (including NICAP, MUFON and APRO) and do REALLY fast searches of them ” [ extract from article].

Definately both worth checking out, as a wealth of information can be found there.

New UFO website – Ufology PRSS

Posted by dandare on March 22, 2013

ufosa-hot-topic

Want to know about up to date Ufo News, from a new website, then go to Ufology PRSS to get the latest information. It had its debut at the 2013 International UFO Congress Conference.

It seems to be doing well too with a large number of visitors to the website. It has other categories you can look at,  such as crop circles, the paranormal, researchers, among others and a forum. It looks good too, and i’ll be calling in to catch up with what’s in the news.

Please consider being a supporter; but please continue to still call in here every once in a while too.

I must also apologise for inactivity on this website since mid-february, and hope to be able to catch up very soon…thanks for your patience.

IFO’s …..What are they?

Posted by dandare on October 5, 2012

What is an IFO; well it is a term that stands for Identified Flying Objects…. we refer to them, when we are able to identify an object in the sky.

I would like to quickly guide you through some of the many IFO’s in the sky, just to show that there is alot out there that is identified; this is important, as we must always keep this in mind, when looking at possible UFO’s…. for instance, live checks can be made on sateillites and where they are, if you know where to look ……

The Delta Project “Common IFO Phenomena” by Robert Moore;  gives a flavour of the IFO subject (Identified Flying Object).

There are many IFO’s out there:

1  Sateillites

For instance, the Naval Ocean Surveillance Sateillite.

” NOSS is a group of satellites that travel as a group of three in orbit around the Earth and sighting of this trio has given rise to many UFO reports in the UK” (extract from post). Also see here for more links to sateillites, with programmes to track them, ect.

For real time sateillite tracking see Heaven’s Above (recommended). Also for Hubble, Mir and others see here , here and here (real time tracking also).

Paul Maley’s site   (which is way out of date) shows just how much re-entered junk, falls back down to earth.

2  Space Junk

Alot of re-entry space junk, can be another possible IFO.

It has been the cause of quite a few ufo sightings; they are similar to bright fireball meteors, but have been known to be much more dramatic.

Only recently, space junk was the cause of sightings- in the UK.

sky news

BBC News

“On average, one non-functional spacecraft, launch vehicle orbital stage, or other piece of cataloged debris has fallen back to Earth every day for more than 40 years. The majority of these objects do not survive the intense reentry environment. For the minority which do survive in whole or in part, most fall harmlessly into the oceans or onto sparsely populated regions such as Siberia, the Australian Outback, or the Canadian Tundra. Occasionally, components of spacecraft and launch vehicles are found” (extract from NASA Debris Re-entry recovered ). However, this phenomena is becoming more common as the years pass.

Sources for this on the internet are Orbital Debris Quarterly news here , paul maley’s site “satellite ” website, with pictures of large re-entry debris here (still quite rare, especially at these sizes; thats a relief).

3    UFO Balloons

UFO balloons (or fire balloons) are a small balloon, heated by a flame below….. they are based on sky lanterns (invented by Chu Ko Liang), from China, which where traditionally made from a combination of bamboo frames and rice paper…. and used a rag dipped in paraffin, which was then lit, to get them airborne.

UFO balloons (i think commercialy started in 2005?) use a clear plastic bag (others use other material such as dry cleaner bags), and fitted below with a firelighter, held in place by wire; others have used balsa wood and drinking straws to make them, and a candle in place of the firelighter.

A ufo balloon being lit and put into the air can be seen here on you tube…..

These balloons need to be put into the mix, when researching and collaborating UFO sightings, to confirm that it is not these that have sparked off the reported sightings…. they do have some characteristics that can help in this though…. they have a whiteish-yellow glow, although in some weather conditions, these can be orangey red, and do not move quickly (unless in a strong wind-although this could create a fire risk) and always with the wind too, obviously.

They must be used in the right weather conditions, otherwise there is a real possibility that they can catch fire to the surrounding countryside, property, etc.

The ideal conditions to use them are on cool, clear non breezy evenings… they last for around 8 to 10 minutes (but sometimes slightly longer) and can rise as far as about 1000 metres; it can also move with airstream’s as it rises. Although i have heard of some that can last for far longer (up to 40 minutes they claim) using a candle framework to keep it alight for longer…. i’m sure there are other variations too.

Another thing is that they do not come out well on camera or video, but can be quite visual when seen real time.

So UFO followers must take this into account when considering reports of ufo’s, although there are many IFO’s out there (i will when time allows put a permanent page up, with as many references to IFO’s as i can).

This just gives you a flavour of what there is out in the skies……. hope this helps you when you see something in the sky…always ask- is it possibly an IFO.

UFO sightings ***From the UFO archives***No 1

Ensign of Belgian Air Force

Ensign of Belgian Air Force (Photo credit: Wikipedia)

I would like to start a new feature, that of UFO sightings from yesteryear…with a brief description on this blog, and links to relevant websites, with indepth discussions.

To kick us off i will start with:

1 The Belgian Triangles

belg89Dates: November 1989 – April 1990 [Belgian Authorities recieved over 2500 reports on Triangular UFOs].

The RBAF (Royal Belgian Air Force) decided to co-operate/work with SOBEPS (Local UFO Research Group= Society Of Belgian Studies of Celestial Phenomena), with SOBEPS reporting from ground level, whilst RBAF would attempt to track and intercept.

They never intercepted them, as the UFOs were far too quick for the F-16s.

English: Belgian Air Force F-16 at the Wadding...

English: Belgian Air Force F-16 at the Waddington International Air Show 2011 (Photo credit: Wikipedia)

Triangular UFOs- what were they? Explanations for this, were that the USAF, may have been testing its stealth aircraftF117A fighters and B-2 bombers.

However, F-16s can fly faster than stealth aircraft, so why no interceptions, and why were the UFOs more agile.

UFO websites worthy of a visit

Posted by dandare on March 6, 2009

There is a wealth of websites, blogs and articles out there, on the subject of UFOs and Ufology, and quite a few are ill informed, spread disinformation, or are completely inaccurate.

I would like to point you to places i frequently go to for UFO information, and hope that you can find time to visit as well.

DOCUMENTARY + GOVERNMENT RECORDS ON UFOs:

Majestic 12 has links to document sources, some witnesses, documentary authentication for some of the reports and other links. Recently, the authentication was put into question.

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

The full condign report can be found here (on the MOD site, 32 files).

Blue Book Archive this is where you can view project blue book on the internet. A valuable resource, it is still ongoing….  it has uncensored microfilm releases, download facility for reports and information about the documents (at this time 10 rolls of film, that are uncensored have been made available).

The Tornado case (1990) an audio cassette recording between British pilots and Dutch military air traffic control.

The Magoniax Project : “Archiving centuries of Fortean phenomena” including UFO related documentation.

Roswell proof up to date information on Roswell, with any new information added to the site.

CIA Freedom of information Act web results for UFO/flying saucer…. see here (242 results). Also here (43 results).

MOD: on UFO documents <–from 2005 for instance Part one. (it frequently changes the website, so links need finding every so often, to keep up to date). Part 2 can be found here and lastly part 3 here . Also Unidentified Aerial Phenomenon (UAP) can be found here .

Updated information concerning UFO reports made to the British
Ministry of Defence in 1998 – 2006,  has been added to their website……please  see here .

The Black Vault has a wealth of documents you can download here .

Whilst doing my usual rounds of my favorite linked sites, i came across this post by dbreckenridge at the footnote.com site, entitled “UFO in Utah, Comic book style” . It is in relation to the sighting of 1952, which was produced in a comic style, to portray the sighting. Another interesting post can be found here .

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

Other entries on UFOs from footnote.com can be found here .

A handy link to Area 51 (groom lake), from FAS (Federation of American Scientists): http://www.fas.org/irp/overhead/groom.htm

It goes into detail about the imagery available, an overview of the area, handy links to other sites (some now are not working), and images of Area 51 through the years, near the bottom of the article.

It seems to have been written in 2000, but still handy for anyone interested in this topic. Imagery of groom lake can be seen here .

Footnote.com

In the article “Free: more than 1 million images from US Revolution to UFOs“, it gives a long list of documents available for free; what we are interested in is Project blue book – Ufo investigations (1947-1969). On this post, some people have already done some work, and posted interesting documents for us to view.

It also has related titles, and a free example list; the source for this is the national Archives . After putting in project blue book into the search engine, i saw a long list of references here & here .Both project blue book and “project blue book” were put in to the search engine-obviously more search terms will be done at a later date.

Anyway, to cut a long story short, here are some fascinating links to references we can see. This includes examples/story entries from footnote members themselves.

ARC results (for reference numbers)

Project Blue Book 1947-1969 click on document on the right to view it like this here. this whole document is worth looking at.

Footnote search for ufos A vast amount of references (over 2,014 in total) and you can look through the documents of these sightings-****worth looking at.

The  spotlight feature on footnote, mentions “X-15 test pilot Joe Walker on record setting flight (past UFOs)“. Also “ufo or photographic anomaly?”, “30 people in Sherman Texas can’t be wrong“… there are others… all these again relate to real documents, that can be seen online.

UFO ORGANISATIONS:

NICAP (National Investigations Committee on Aerial Phenomena), has a wealth of information on UFOs, and is an excellent site.

CUFON (The Computer UFO Network) who “…..strive to present material relating to UFO phenomena and the search for UFO-related government documents obtained through official channels in a fair and accurate manner” (extract from webpage). Of great interest is the link to verified documents and other documents. In the special reports link, there is a good link to reading available. An article on “Do nuclear facilities attract ufos?”  is worth looking at too.

MUFON (Mutual UFO Network), also is great for ufo insights/knowledge; articles on Famous UFO cases, UFO weather maps and UFO fast facts too name but a few things on this  site.

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

CUFOS (Centre for UFO Studies) “ >The Center for UFO Studies (CUFOS) is an international group of scientists, academics, investigators, and volunteers dedicated to the continuing examination and analysis of the UFO phenomenon”. Many articles can be found here. My favourites are “we know where you live?” and government ufo documents on the internet .

NUFORC (National UFO Reporting Centre). I usually refer to the Latest ufo reports for information- very handy; there of course, is other good links on this site.

bufora UFO information, mainly to do with Europe…not kept up to date; quite a few ufologists do not hold favour with the organisation, and i can see their point of view.

UFO BLOGS:

Stanton Friedman used to be a nuclear physicist, but became very interested in UFO’s from 1958. Goes into great detail about why he believes UFO’s are visiting earth, but covers other areas as well.

aliencasebook.blogspot.com, aliencasebookfringe.blogspot.com, are both by Atrueoriginall… an excellent up to date resource. Also has forums that you can visit.

ufodna.com is also an excellent resource for UFO information….

For instance, i was searching for Fort Worth, Texas sightings…… at this sight, you can go to the alphabetical listing, and this is what i found here . Admittedly you have to scroll down a long way…. but there are entries from 1897 up until 2005 (i think it only goes up to 2006). It also has a google map location for it (if you click on the individual sightings in the list), but must only be used as a general guide, as each different sighting points to the same spot.

It also has other invaluable data/information; for instance “UFOs like lonely places” and ” the quality of UFO report data

Flying saurcery….presents The Real UFO Project . A great collection of information from the UK; loads of information here.

Hyper.net has an absolute wealth of knowledge on the subject, and is excellent.

UFO shapes and configurations can be found here .

nick redfern’s blog sites; definately worth searching on….some great stuff here.

Nick Pope used to be in the British Government’s UFO project, within the MOD.

Frank warren’s blog: excellent for up to date news, and for good articles on older matters.

thewhyfiles

UFO Review for up to date ufo news.

ufo’s at about.com with different links and info

The Anomalies Network for information on the Men in Black

Useful Astronomy sites:

Space Weather Support at  Solar Terrestrial Dispatch . This has links to an aurora monitor. For instance, an hourly activity report here , astro alerts, global flare reports and so on….. useful to know whats up there.

Heavens Above a vital resource if you need to know what is in the sky…ie sateillites, ect. Can give you all sorts of data, from almost any town/city.

Free to read….. Online UFO books:

NICAP (National Investigations Committee on Aerial Phenomena), have placed authorized full length versions of books, online for everyone to read for free. They are not up to date books, but are worth reading (admitedly i have only read a few, but glancing through the rest, they look interesting . The link to them is here ) .

The books are:

“Alfred Loedding and the great flying saucer wave of 1947″ (by Michael hall and Wendy connors)

“The flying saucers are real” (by Donald Keyhoe ) 1950

“Symposium on Unidentified flying objects” second session 1968 (by various)

“Regional encounters : The FC files  acentury of ufo sightings and close encounters in the midwest” (director : francis ridge) 1994

“Report on the ufo wave of 1947″ (ted bloecher) 1967

“Flying saucers : fact or fiction” (Max Miller) 1957, i think

“The report on Unidentified Flying objects” (Edward Ruppelt) 1956?

“The ufo evidence” 1965 (published by NICAP)

“Ufos: a new look” a special report  by NICAP (1969)

“ufology” by James McCampbell (/)

“Inside saucer post 3-0 blue” a summary report by Leonard Stringfield (1957)

other resources that might be of interest.

W.A. Harbinson wrote a book in 1995, entitled “Projekt UFO: The case for Man-made Flying Saucers”. I remember, it had some well thought arguments, that basically, there is a ruthless technology right here on earth, and the scenario is definately something that people should be aware of, if not necessarily agree on.

For the record, there is some parts of this book, that i do not agree with, but it does get your mind thinking, questioning and so on, and this can only be a good thing.

His website can be found here

The second volume to this, Pheonix: Projekt Saucer Book 2″ is available for free…. at the download page on his site.

This is just a guide to just some of the most reliable websites on the internet…… i will be updating this list on the  UFO LINKS page, when i have time to do so- there are many more worthy of a mention here, but as i have said they will be added constantly to the UFO LINKS page on this site.

I hope some of these websites, find you wanting to know more  about UFO’s, if you are wondering were to get the information. (website links will be updated soon, on the UFO links page, as there are more sites worthy of a mention, that have not been mentioned at all).

Please feel free to comment.

Interesting information from NARCAP/fotocat on UFO’s

Posted by dandare on June 7, 2008

NARCAP has a very interesting preliminary report “UAP imaged from aircraft” (this is an ongoing situation), and therefore it is probably worth bookmarking/saving this, and coming back at intervals to see any updates.

Also please see fotocat for more information here . Interesting stuff indeed. There are some large documents that you can download… for instance FOTOCAP report Number 4 (first catalogue) has a final report on Norwegian UFO photo’s.

In fact fotocat has a wealth of information on its homepage…. its aim is to collect world wide UFO photo events; Its ultimate aim is to have a full catalogue on the internet, for all too see.

It also has other material such as links to:
