Danish Air Force make public UFO Files

Posted by dandare on January 30, 2009

600px-ovniThe Danish Air Force has followed France and the UK, and released UFO Files to the Public (released on the 28th January 2009).

DR has a short article here (translated with Google, so the English is not brilliant). Its the 2nd article from the top, on the list (for some reason will not go directly to the article).

An archive of the last 25 years of UFO observations are now been opened at Karup Air Base.

Observations out in a blue binder with 329 pages.

Air Force published the file today and made it available simultaneously on the Internet.

None x-files It was Captain Thomas Pedersen from the Air Force, which handed UFO directory.

We have chosen to tell people that here is the folder we put it on the Internet. And then it all afmystificeret and shows that there is no secret. There is no x-files. The folder has never been secret, it has just not been available, “said Captain Thomas Pedersen ” (full article quoted here).

danish-ufoAt Forsvaret.dk  (danish Air Force) there is ” UFO archive online ” (translated from google). At the bottom of the article the PDF can be downloaded, in Danish. It also mentions that Air Force Magazine (published 2nd febuary) will have more on the UFO archive.

The historical-UFO sightings, which now can be downloaded from this page, is reported to the Air Force Tactical Command and also the very thorough investigation reports from Scandinavian UFO Information and some newspaper articles – including the story of then frozen toilet waste fell from the sky and gave rise entitled to wonder ” (extract from article).

Future Ufo sightings will be sent to SUFOI .

JP.DK has ” Secret UFO archives opened

The Danish Air Force has opened its UFO archives, providing information on over 15,000 reported extraterrestrial sightings to the public UFO archives are now readily available to the public, detailing sightings from over the last 30 years. The Danish Air…

UFO archives are now readily available to the public, detailing sightings from over the last 30 years. The Danish Air Force published the archive online yesterday because it felt that ‘there was nothing secret in the files’.

The Air Force said that most of the sightings remained ‘unidentified’ because the details were not precise enough. However, some of the reports contained enough description to rule out the UFOs as aircraft, weather phenomenon or paper lanterns.
Not all of the sightings were centred over Denmark and one event over Greenland is attracting attention.

On the 5 January, 1981 at 12:50 a flaming, square disc was seen approximately 45 degrees over the frozen land near Thule Air Base. It then vanished as suddenly as it had appeared.

Coincidentally, radar stations at the American base recorded an unidentified flying object on its radar at 12:50.

Air Force Captain Thomas Petersen, who has an extensive knowledge of the files, commented that any unresolved sightings are handed over to the Scandinavian UFO Centre, if they request it.

He added that the Air Force’s main mission was to defend Denmark against threat, ‘and UFOs are not a known threat’ ” (full article here).

The PDF can be downloaded here .

The Copenhagen Post has ” Secret UFO archives opened ” (posted 29th january 2009, in English).

Farshores has ” Danish Defence Dept releases 52 years of UFO files ” (with translation, posted 28th january).Part of the article mentions that a boy aged 15, saw a UFO and some aliens in 1982. The description is on page 144 (of the UFO files), plus the drawing (see below).

Please also see Alien casebook for a blog article ” Denmark discloses its UFO files “. It gives more information about the 15 year old’s encounter.

In a related article on UFOs (posted 29th january) in Ingenioren, it has ” Thai paper lamps creates Danish UFO hysteria ” (translated by google). Sound familiar to any other particular country?

UPDATE : 30th january 2009

An article written today by The Copenhagen Post online, has some further information to give us; entitled ” The truth is now out there “.

But not all sightings can be readily explained. In August 1991 two police officers on a night patrol in the northern Copenhagen suburb of Ordrup had an unusual experience. Sitting in their patrol car at 2:30am they suddenly saw a strange object hovering about 75-150 metres in the air above the car. The officers thought it looked like the underside of an airplane and they noticed that their communication systems had ceased to function. Intrigued, the officers followed it as it moved slowly away, eventually disappearing behind some tall trees a few minutes later ” (extract from article). It also gives us more information abou the 15 year old’s sighting (for instance the figures were about 60cms tall?)

UPDATE: 24th February

SUFOI has an interesting article entitled ” Exciting release of Air Force UFO Archives “; in the article it links to a PDF file, translated into English Air Force opens UFO files “.

For instance it mentions  the photo (see below),  was analysed by both SUFOI and TAC, and was found to be created from a steam leakage, from a nearby power station.

The Danish Air Force magazine (feb 2009) has an article on UFOs in the pdf here (page 30 and 31)… in Danish.

UFO experts at ‘The Sun’ cover David Cameron’s comments on UFOs

Posted by dandare on January 27, 2009

david-cameronHere we go again, with the UK media ‘experts’ The Sun, proclaiming ” David Cameron in UFO Files promise “.

Speaking at one of his regular Cameron Direct meetings, at which he takes questions from the public, the Conservative leader promised to be “entirely open and frank” about what the Government knows about close encounters.

At the forum in Tynemouth, North Tyneside, he was questioned about a spate of mysterious incidents ” (extract from article). It mentions that a member of the audience (that person is Richard Hall, not mentioned by The Sun) asks him several questions.

He replies with the standard political response, that of course, we will be as open as possible….. a flavour of his answer can be seen below:

“But I think we should be a open as possible, so I would be quite happy to give you a guarantee that if I became prime minister I would always be entirely open and frank about these things.

“I don’t think any of us have any clue whether there’s intelligent life out there and it is certainly not something that any Government should seek to hide from anyone” ” (extract from article). This does however show, that he has little, if no real understanding of the UFO subject.

where have we heard that one before; Also to see the whole thing on video please see below:

The Sun seem to want to print everything about UFOs, with or without facts, proof or any type of indepth discussion about the subject. For instance , in this article they have not gone further than the you tube video, and just quoted cameron, and that’s it basically. It’s lazy journalism.

Alos why have they labelled it with UFO Files; do they not know that these ‘UFO files’ are starting to come out; 2 batches of files have come out by the MOD, with more to follow.

What do you think The Sun is playing at? are they experts in Ufology? are they trying to increase readership? is Cameron real in his belief? do you want him in charge of the country???

Also does Data look like david?data2

*** UFO Latest:UFO filmed by 8 firefighters in China

Posted by dandare on January 19, 2009

I only have one source for this UFO sighting; it definately seems an interesting sighting, and comes from All News Web (dated 19th January 2009). Entitled ” China: Dazzling UFO seen and Filmed by eight Firefighters “,

diamond_ufo-2009-chinaThe first 2 paragraphs mention:

A remarkable UFO was seen and filmed in China by an entire squadron of fire-fighters in Liu Pan Shui City in the province of Guizhou through a camera with a 700X zoom capability. One of the fire-fighters, Wang Jia Wei, noticed an odd looking, brightly flashing star moving in a south easterly direction and went inside the fire-fighters barracks to get a camera.

Luckily for Wang he was able to find a Panasonic camera used by his comrades to record damage caused by fires that allowed him to zoom in on the mysterious object seven hundred times. At that point Wang could see that the object was in fact two rotating spinning top shaped crafts or halves of a whole craft joined at a their bases. They were flashing a multitude of colours: Purple, red, blue, orange, white and gold ” (extract from article). It then goes on to mention that the sighting lasted for nearly i hour.

Film footage was around 20 minutes long, and chinese reporters have seen this….It has been sent for further analysis…. It will hopefully be available at a later date for all to see…… for more on this please see the link above.  It does say that the Western press, has so far not publically talked about it/shown any interest ( lets hope The Sun does not get wind of it).

The photo below is a still from the film

This is all the information i have on the sighting at the moment; if it develops into something more, or i can get hold of any new information, i will do so on here, ASAP.

If you have any leads/new information on this sighting, please inform me in comments…

UK UFO Sightings [ January 2009] Updated Regularly

Posted by dandare on January 18, 2009

I will try and keep this up to date, with all information from the UK.

Please check back from time to time, as this will be updated regularly…If you see something that i have missed, please contact me (thanks).….

There has been an explosion of UK UFO activity this year, this became even more prominent, after the Sun (tabloid UK newspaper) released a story of an alleged UFO hitting the conisholme wind turbine; this might account for the media clamouring for our attention (how much of it is fact, is frankly anyone’s guess), and also the public looking at the sky more than normal.

Many of the sightings are sensationalised, with usually alot of information missing.

ufo-hefe-label-2007Please keep this in mind as you view these postings from the local and national press.

I’m afraid many also fail to follow up on their initial leads, and many reports just remain forgotten.

Some incidents could be UFO balloons (please see:  https://dandare.wordpress.com/2007/05/19/ufo-balloons-what-are-they/ for more details, from a previous article).

However, as i have said before, i am not sure what value they are to any UFO research.

Tonight The Evening Star’s website launches a new section – Stargate Suffolk – to keep everyone up to date with all the stories and sightings of alien craft, mystery lights and even little green men ” (extract from article).

It is the latest in a long line of sightings to suggest that extra terrestrial life is out there and interested in Hampshire.

The bright lights were shot from a house in Hedge End by a UFO enthusiast who wished to remain anonymous. He said: “I’m still having trouble trying to work out what they are myself, they are in a fixed position to start and then you clearly see the two lights moving apart “ ” (extract from article).

The Sun “ K.O. UFOs

Nick Pope — who worked on the Ministry of Defence’s UFO desk for three years — revealed the rules of engagement for the first time.

He claimed RAF pilots had fired at UFOs on several occasions — but failed to bring them down.

He added: “We know of cases where the order has been given to shoot down — with little effect to the UFO.”

Mr Pope said the rules of engagement were drawn up after dozens of close encounters with suspect craft in British airspace.

RAF attacks on UFOs were “not automatic but happen when something in our airspace is deemed to be a threat” ” (extract from article). All i’d like to add is that this is complete hype…. yes its colourful, but what does it actually say?? not much really…sorry. However, it could have been less sensational and tried to give facts, witness descriptions and so on.

But yet again, it has the other media writing/videoing about the same stuff.

‘The public won’t know unless it comes down in a heavily-populated area,’ he said.

‘I do believe we will bring one down. We’re developing increasingly sophisticated weapons.’

Mr Pope said the government has no way of knowing if the UFOs pose a threat because the cases are never fully investigated.

‘They will try to play it down by talking about flying saucers and little green men. But there are MPs and ministers and a faction of the MoD who do believe in UFOs,’ he added ” (extract from article). Ah ha, this makes slightly better sense.

It is open to debate just what the object is but if it’s a kite, it is a very big one and it doesn’t look like a rogue cloud. This could be something mechanical – possibly a craft of some kind. UK UFO creating a Storm in January 2009? How much truth is there in Wind Turbine UFO mystery

Posted by dandare on January 17, 2009

I must first start by quickly apologising to everyone, for not adding a blog post since 31st December;Unfortunately, i have had/still have an eye infection, and am still limited to short spells on the computer (but hope everything will be back too normal in a while).

Anyway, back to the Wind Turbine story that hit the Uk, and then soon hit the world newspapers, and media (not the first or last time this will happen).

ufo-alert444I first became aware of this story on the 5th january 2009….. it was from the Louth Leader (a frequent local newspaper reporter of UFOs ) ” UPDATE PLUS PHOTO: Are UFOs to blame for the chaos at Conisholme wind farm ?  ”

Reports of a large bang and flashing lights skimming across the sky on the night a turbine on Conisholme wind farm was damaged have been told.

Mr Stephen Willows and his wife, Dorothy who live in Fen Lane close to the Conisholme wind farm have told the Leader how Stephen was startled in his sleep by a loud bang at 4am Sunday morning.

It is believed the damage which has left one of the massive blades missing and another bent out of shape happened at some point on Sunday night.

They also reported how on Saturday night, Dorothy and two friends were travelling to Louth by car, when Dorothy looked up at the sky to see lights travelling in a strange fashion across the sky towards the wind farm.

Dorothy said: “I don’t believe in UFO’s but it was a low flying object. This light seemed to be in the distance, and then it seemed to skim across the sky towards the turbines.

“It might not be connected, but it is just how your mind works when something like this happens – you think, could that have been the noise Stephen heard, or was that to do the light I saw? But until we know what has happened for definite it is very hard to say” ” (extract from article). Although later, i was alerted to a BBC news article from the 5th ” Blade falls off wind farm turbine ” no mention is made to a UFO at all.

So lets be honest here, there is nothing really to substantiate these sightings as a known incident together ( i only add this now, as we will soon see, that certain national tabloid papers, soon elaborate onto another level entirely, in all areas of observation).

tentacle-ufo-wind-farm-lenny-montanaThis was quickly followed up by the same local newspaper, on the 6th January 2009 with ” UPDATE PLUS VIDEO FOOTAGE: Tentacle UFO spotted night before carnage at Conisholme Wind Farm” ; Also it had a second article ” Probe into turbine damage at Louth area wind farm “.

The main National media picked up on the story on the 8th January:

The Sun ” UFO hits Wind Turbine

A woman motorist told how she saw a UFO zoom towards the wind farm and strike the 290ft turbine.

Dorothy Willows — who lives half a mile from the scene of the hit-and-run — was in her car when “strange lights” loomed in the evening sky…[.]…The object that struck the turbine at Conisholme near Louth on Sunday dodged others surrounding it — and last night experts had no explanation for what it was. There were NO reports of any aircraft collisions.… ” (extracts from article). It  also mentions the tentacled lights of the night before also.

seal-ufo-truth However, you can see the language has changed here…. The same witness from the Louth Leader (Local paper), which first brought out this story, is now in the Sun saying ” she saw a UFO zoom towards the wind farm and strike the 290ft turbine “, and also  ” The object that struck the turbine at Conisholme near Louth on Sunday dodged others surrounding it ” (extract from article again). So you see with a very quick observation, (there are others) the facts have already changed over 2 days, and in rather a way that suits the paper, for its headlines, and therefore it must be AN EXPERT on UFOs !

Both The Sun and other main sources, keep also quoting that UFO experts are excited about this, and believe (some of them more adament than others) that a UFO hit the wind Turbine.

Soon the whole story was worldwide, and lots of speculation was made as to what had caused the blades of the wind turbine to brake…. there were many theories, including a spaceship hitting the blades, ice forming on the blades (although there is a mechanism that prevents the blades from moving, if it does, i think) a secret black ops plane and other ideas.

The most plausible one for me is that of metal deteriation…. i’m sorry to say that there simply is not enough evidence, if any, to point to a UFO of any description hitting the turbine.

ufo-online3The blades were found and taken away for analysis by a german company- and it now seems that near the end of this month, the results of the test will be known.

However, i did a little research of my own and discovered at  http://www.caithnesswindfarms.co.uk/page4.htm a rather interesting statistic: it is full of wind turbine incidents dated up to 31st december 2008. There were 560 known accidents, fatal accidents 52, blade failure 139 (yes that many) and structural failure = 60, 110 fire incidents, ice throw 24. For the Blade failure it mentions:

By far the biggest number of incidents found were due to blade failure. “Blade failure” can arise from a number of possible sources, and results in either whole blades or pieces of blade being thrown from the turbine ” (extract from article).

The wind turbines if nothing else should be looked at more closely, if only on the grounds of safety…

For instance, there were no strong winds in this area at the time, and especially with the possibility of bigger turbines being placed in the Uk in the future, then i for one would be concerned about this? However, with no really stringent safety rules in place, and the government wanting greener alternatives, this could be overlooked.

There are many more unanswered questions to this incident, not necessarily UFO based.

Below, i have added all available sources to this incident, please take a look at some of them (there are quite a few), however not all sources have been added, as many repeat themselves.

Of course, all i have written are just my interpritation on the incident, and i could be wrong….. i would be interested to hear your views on this, so please leave your comments below.

What does the tentacled UFO mean? i am possibly interested in this? but how much of this has been blown out of all proportions as well, is anyones guess.
